The Iranian city of Kelarabad is getting a residential complex whose architecture is presented as a series of villas, one on top of the other

Aiming to offer a greener alternative to conventional apartment buildings, the 38,477 sq m complex by Hooba Design Group will consist of “high-rise villas” that will draw on both “regional architecture and local environmental laws.”

The designs show a network of raised, pitched volumes, stacked on top of each other using large columns.

At ground level, a large grassy area will house a series of additional spaces, and above them, a vast recreational area sheltered by villas.

Varying in width and height, the volumes have large openings and fully glazed facades that open onto landscaped terraces overlooking the surrounding area.
